Reporter – Christchurch (Full-time)

Star Media, a division of Allied Press Limited, is seeking a motivated Reporter to join our team, focusing on our Christchurch community publications. This is an exciting opportunity for a junior or intermediate journalist early in their career who is passionate about community-focused stories and building their reporting skills in a dynamic newsroom.

About the role:

• Research and write engaging news and feature stories for our community publications.
• Attend local events and report on community issues, highlighting the stories that matter to Christchurch residents.
• Collaborate with the editorial team to meet deadlines and contribute ideas for future stories.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Strong writing and communication skills.
• A keen interest in community journalism and local news.
• The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• A relevant journalism qualification or industry experience
• Basic photography and video skills are a bonus, but not required.
• A full NZ driver’s licence.
